Scott is the Archbishop of Westminster's adviser on health-care
chaplaincy. This work will be of great spiritual help to children who have
to spend time in hospital. But it need not be limited to hospital
admissions ! Each page has activities and stories to help children get
closer to God. There are prayers, stories from the Saints and Bible
stories. There are also prayers for families, for the doctors and nurses
and for other patients.
One example is that of Our Lord calming the storm. A reading of this is followed by an activity: the child uses his or her imagination to reflect on the scene. It ends with thanksgiving and an activity: to write about or draw a boat.
This reviewer found the story of Saint Bernadette followed by a page on Saint Bernadette and the Rosary fascinating.
There is nothing I know that is similar to this work. Very informative and helpful.
